4-3-2-1... LAUNCH! Readathons are go!

Yesterday was the last day of school and the English and Malay Department organized Readathon, a way to promote the culture of reading in the schools, at home, everywhere.
4 guest speakers were invited to motivate and influence the students the importance of reading and writing.
Also on that day, the student have the chance to dress up as their favorite character from a movie, anime, manga or famous people like celebrities or sports person.

From left to right: Little Red Riding Hood with specs, that girl from Bleach, Ungrumpy young Black Witch, and someone.

More pictures afterwards. I'll edit this post later. In the meantime, I've uploaded photos in my flickr. Go and visit there. May my shoutbox have peace after this. Heh.

Update:
In the spirit of Readathon, I ask you my loyal readers to list out the last three books you've read and if you can state the time and duration of reading it, that'll be great. And also give details of what the book is all about like a plot summary. You can link to a Wikipedia entry.

So what books have I read you ask?

1. The latest would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling.
You can read my previous post here.
This book is about:
No explanation here. I think you all know the story. If you don't even know this, I ask you where have you been?
Reading period: Started July 2007 and ends ....(didn't finish).

2. Cell by Stephen Kings
This book is about:
A New England artist struggling to reunite with his young son after a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell-phone network turns masses of his fellow humans into groups of nearly-mindless, murderous telekinetic hive-minds.
Reading Period: December 2006 till February 2007

3. Doomsday Conspiracy by Sidney Sheldon
This book is about:
Commander Robert Bellamy, a Naval Intelligence agent, is awakened by a telephone call at 4:00 A.M., in which he is asked to report to the director of the NSA (National Security Agency). Once there, he is assigned the top secret job of locating ten people who were on a tour of Switzerland, who witnessed the crash of a UFO. After he uncovers a witness, they are brutally murdered by their country's government. Bellamy uncovers an international conspiracy. He is forced to play a dangerous game of hide and seek with the world's strongest governments, who are out to silence him because of the knowledge he possesses.

Reading Period: Mid 2007

That's my list. I have a few more to add. I've read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and some other books that I didn't remember because it was a long long time ago in the galaxy far far away. Now I want to see yours. Show me your list of books that you've read.

P/S: Like what Cikgu Bujang said, you should make reading a habit, a culture. Reading is beneficial and sharpens your mind. You'll thank him one day. Just ask my wife. She's got tons of books and have read them all. She's a speed reader too. She can finish a 500 page novel in just two hours. Amazing. It'll take me months or over a year to finish what she's reading.
